Where Your Educational Journey is Held to the Standards They Require
Every application is built with an understanding of the multiple perspectives that will evaluate it
— and our strategy accounts for each.

The LEP Difference
We are a consulting group with a limited number of highly qualified consultants and mentors. Our founder works with each student and ensures each team is both curated and specialized to the student’s needs and interests.
❋ Boutique
We are not counselors or coaches. Consultants are experts who provide knowledge, analysis, and skills to bridge gaps and offer customized advice and solutions. At the beginning of each student journey, the consultant and family align on a goal and all work is done with that goal in mind.
❋ Consultants
As you prepare your college application, you will also learn life-long skills to prepare you for your success in your chosen field and career path. We encourage students to participate in apprenticeships to gain first-hand experience working with mentors working at startups and corporations.
❋ Career-Oriented
Our Services
-
As college admissions get increasingly more competitive, we see more and more advantages to working with your student in their middle school years. Middle school grades and achievements are not recorded on the college application so it’s the perfect time to develop executive functioning, explore interests, and test drive skills and projects in a relatively risk-free environment. Through monthly meetings with a consultant, your student can walk into high school with confidence, as well as immediate goals and projects to implement that then can be highlighted in their college application.
-
Once a student reaches high school, we recommend fortnightly meetings with a consultant to ensure that milestones are being met at the right time. This is the time to consider and execute how your student will stand out from the crowd. As such, more time will be dedicated to identifying a specific niche in their prospective major and designing relative projects and research.
-
While writing their college application, some students may decide that they’ll apply to a certain set of schools now and apply to transfer to more selective schools the following year. We also work with current undergraduate students who decide they want to transfer to another university. Transfer application strategy is very different from first-year application strategy and should start as early as possible.

Students
Daniel
Transferred from Emory University to the University of Chicago
"With only 3 months left before the deadline, Kelly helped me develop a transfer strategy from a business major to an urban development major, as well as get an apprenticeship with a top architecture and contracting firm. Not only was I accepted to the University of Chicago and Brown University, I also got a job offer from that firm."
Jenny
Accepted to Princeton University, Stanford University, and Columbia University
"I loved working with Kelly who is a great listener and strategist. While my previous consultants talked a lot and forced me down a cookie cutter roadmap, she asked great questions and developed projects that were uniquely made for me."
Sarah
"When I began working with Kelly, I already knew I was passionate about law, but didn't know how to highlight it in my application. She introduced me to David who helped me better understand my leadership style and apply it to projects I never would have done on my own. I'm still pretty shy, but I now lead clubs and oversee conferences with hundreds of attendees."
Accepted to Harvard University, Yale University, and Stanford University
Joseph
Accepted to Cornell University and Dartmouth College
"I was recommended to meet Kelly after being rejected from my early decision university. Within 2-3 weeks, we rewrote my whole application and she even designed an apprenticeship that I could complete before the regular decision deadline. She was with me every step of the way, even when I had my interviews. I wouldn't be where I am today without her."
Sanjay
Accepted to New York University (Stern) & University of Southern California (Marshall)
"My parents and I first met Kelly to review a contract from another consulting company - she saved us a lot of money by explaining the differences between the company's package options and what actually would help vs not. She was also a big help when I finished my application and just needed an extra pair of eyes before submitting."

It's relatively rare and difficult for students to get internships as high school students, especially if they lack the connections or don't live in a major city. But, internships are great opportunities for students to test their interests in the real world while developing lifelong skills.
At LEP, we leveled up internships to apprenticeships. Apprenticeships are 100% remote and conducted with a professional who will guide you through a project related to your career interests. From doing market research for a company's new venture to increasing tourism to a small neighborhood that's facing gentrification, our students have made real impacts for businesses and communities.

If you or your student are beginning to have questions around what they should be focusing on or when they should be completing something, it’s the right time to start. Our students most frequently start between 6th-9th grade, but they all have different needs. For example, one 9th grader already knew she wanted to study law at a top 10 university while another 8th grader’s parent wanted an expert to help with major and career exploration to help motivate the student as they enter high school. We have also designed unique packages where we consult the parent separately or the parent and student together to ease the student into consulting. We highly encourage you to schedule a free consultation with us to explore your options.
-
While our team is highly specialized for Ivy League level applications, less than 50% of our students are aiming for these institutions. More often, parents choose to work with us because they prefer our boutique-style consulting, emphasis on lifelong skills, and the opportunity to do apprenticeships.
